Preparation Guide for Delivery Man (DSR) Position at M/S Mrittika Traders – Sylhet

1. UNDERSTAND THE ROLE
• Daily delivery of branded bakery products (cakes, biscuits, wafers) to retailers in Sylhet Sadar according to a fixed route plan.
• Use the company‑provided van safely, load and unload goods, and verify product quantity, expiry dates and any damage before departure.
• Collect cash payments from customers, issue delivery challan/invoice, and submit the cash to the office on the same day.
• Maintain good relationships with shop owners and staff, ensure proper product display, and report market feedback, competitor activities and new shop information to the supervisor.
• Support the sales team in achieving daily/monthly targets and perform any other tasks assigned by management (e.g., market visits, special deliveries).

2. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Age: 20‑35 years.
• Minimum education: 8th pass or SSC (educational flexibility for experienced candidates).
• At least 1 year of experience in FMCG distribution, delivery, or DSR work is preferred but freshers are also encouraged to apply.

3. KEY SKILLS TO HIGHLIGHT
• Physical stamina – ability to lift and carry product boxes and handle loading/unloading.
• Safe driving skills – familiarity with operating a van, basic vehicle maintenance checks, and defensive driving.
• Money handling – accuracy in cash collection, receipt issuance and daily cash reconciliation.
• Communication – polite, clear interaction with retailers, ability to negotiate if needed.
• Time management – punctuality, adherence to route schedule, meeting delivery deadlines.
• Basic record‑keeping – maintaining delivery logs, challans, and reporting any discrepancies.

4. DOCUMENTS TO HAVE READY FOR APPLICATION
• Updated resume (Bangla and/or English) focusing on delivery, logistics or sales support experience.
• Copy of educational certificates (SSC or 8th pass).
• Valid driving licence (preferably with a clean record).
• National ID (NID) copy.
• Recent passport‑size photographs (2‑3).
• If you own a motorbike or have prior vehicle handling experience, include a brief note or certificate.

5. PHYSICAL & LOGISTICAL PREPARATION
• Ensure you are medically fit – a simple health check to confirm you can lift 10‑15 kg repeatedly.
• Practice loading and unloading practice boxes at home to gauge your speed and technique.
• Review basic road safety rules and practice smooth braking/turning in a van if possible.
• Familiarize yourself with Sylhet’s main market areas, major retailers, and typical traffic patterns during peak hours.

6. KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE COMPANY & PRODUCTS
• Visit the company website (https://www.mrittikatraders.com/) to understand their product range, brand positioning and distribution network.
• Learn the key selling points of Akij Bakers and Goldmark Biscuits (taste, shelf life, packaging).
• Understand the importance of product freshness – be able to explain expiry dates and storage requirements to retailers.

7. INTERVIEW PREPARATION
• Dress neatly in clean formal or semi‑formal attire (e.g., shirt, trousers, closed shoes).
• Arrive at the office (Jeet Market, First Floor, Green City, Madina Market, Sylhet) at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
• Be ready to discuss:
– Your previous delivery or logistics experience, including any challenges faced and how you resolved them.
– How you ensure cash is handled securely and accurately.
– Situations where you built good rapport with shop owners or handled a difficult customer.
– Your familiarity with the Sylhet market, major retail zones and typical delivery routes.
• Prepare answers for scenario‑based questions, e.g., “What would you do if a product box is damaged before delivery?” or “How would you handle a retailer who refuses to pay on time?”
• Bring all the required documents (listed in section 4) in an organized folder.

8. POST‑INTERVIEW FOLLOW‑UP
• Send a short thank‑you message or note (if you have the recruiter’s contact) expressing gratitude for the opportunity and reaffirming your enthusiasm for the role.

9. ON‑THE‑JOB READINESS (if selected)
• Attend any induction or training sessions offered by M/S Mrittika Traders.
• Review the company’s standard operating procedures for loading, delivery, cash collection and reporting.
• Verify the condition of the delivery van before each shift – check tires, brakes, fuel level and any safety equipment.
• Keep a personal log of daily deliveries, challenges faced and solutions applied – this will help you meet sales targets and demonstrate accountability.

10. SALARY & BENEFITS
• Monthly salary range: Tk. 12,000 – 14,500.
• Half‑yearly salary review – performance in meeting delivery schedules, cash handling accuracy and sales support will be key factors.

-

Final Tip: Treat the DSR role as both a logistics and a front‑line sales position. Your reliability, honesty with cash, courteous interaction with retailers and consistent on‑time deliveries will set you apart and open the path for growth within M/S Mrittika Traders. Good luck!
